Engstrom Institute E Learning Opportunities

The Engstrom Institute is developing a variety of technology-mediated
learning opportunities for its members that will enhance the
effectiveness of ministries and leadership. E Learning options
specifically suited to our members' needs such as hosted blogs,
webinars, list-serves and other linked and downloadable media will be
available in the months ahead.
Currently accessible are a number of on-line courses provided through
our partnership with ChristianCourses.com—a leading innovator of
technology based Christ-centered, Bible-anchored learning materials. An
educational arm of RBC (Radio Bible Class) Ministries in Grand Rapids
Michigan, we are pleased to offer these quality, Biblically based
resources to our members. RBC offers a wide variety of Christian
materials such as "Our Daily Bread" and the writings of Oswald Chambers
that are available to you on an optional basis when you register. Over
forty courses are accessible to our members in three broad categories:
Leadership
Effectiveness. We recommend four courses specifically designed
to improve skill sets for effective leadership. These include "Leading
from Your Strengths" with Dr. John Trent & Rodney Cox, "Foundations
of Effective Leadership" with Dr. Sid Buzzell, "Introduction to Public
Speaking" with Dr. Haddon Robinson and a foundational course in team
building titled "Group Dynamics" with Deborah McCormick . One additional
course, focused specifically on women in leadership, is available from
Dr. Elisabeth Selzer entitled "The Four 'A's' of Leadership for Women".
Another valuable resource is Dr. Timothy George's "Foundations of the
Christian Church" providing insights into the organizational structures,
processes and challenges as the Christian mission matured.
Christian
World View Foundations. Several courses deal with core
Christian beliefs and practices. We strongly encourage you to review
these offerings to help establish the theological benchmarks for
thinking and serving "Christianly" in the integration of your work and
faith. While basic in content, these "Reasons to Believe" courses
provide important foundation blocks for the more advanced "thought
leader" work the Institute will be offering in Christian worldview
formulation. Thinking Christianly is essential for you to be a
responsible and discerning consumer of current leadership theories and
practices.
Biblical Understanding, Interpretation and
Applications—a series of courses designed to help you do
effective Scriptural study, interpretation and application to both your
personal and professional life. These in-depth studies of Old and New
Testament books develop an awareness of major scriptural themes, Bible
content and skills for studying and applying scriptures. Thinking
Christianly requires a thorough knowledge of Bible content as well as
experience with proper methods of interpretation and application. We
encourage you to sample one or two from both the Old and New Testament.
