CLA 2010

CLA 2010

Helping you lead with vision and courage.
Frank Lofaro | posted 3/11/2010

Bold and courageous leadership is a hallmark of success for both secular and Christian organizations. But I believe that we as Christians are uniquely called and equipped to excel in these areas. We have faith in a sovereign God and are followers of the greatest example of courage and conviction, our Savior Jesus Christ.

Leading ministries during 2009 required tough decisions, bold action, and courageous vision. It has been heartening for us here at Christian Leadership Alliance (CLA) to hear your stories of God's provision and the miraculous ways he showed up in the midst of the economic storms. I am inspired by your faithful leadership of America's Christian nonprofits.

2010 CLA National Conference

CLA's goal is to equip your ministry for organizational success in the areas of leadership, management, governance, and resource development. We do that through Outcomes, online resources, electronic newsletters, webinars, uniquely tailored resources, face-to-face training, and much more. One of the other key ways we equip your ministry for success is through our annual national conference, which features more than 100 workshops, seminars, and summits designed to strengthen your ministry.

The theme of the 2010 CLA National Conference, April 19-21 in San Diego, is "Courageous Leadership in Challenging Times." We know that with economic uncertainties, recruiting and equipping a new generation to fill a growing leadership deficit, and other challenges that face today's ministry leader, wise and bold leadership is more critical now than ever.

Throughout Scripture we see examples of bold and courageous leaders: Moses, Elijah, David, Esther, Mary, Paul, Stephen, and a near-inexhaustible list of others who put their faith and trust in a sovereign God. The heroes of Hebrews 11 are examples of the faith and courage that should mark our lives.

Keynote Speakers

At the upcoming conference, we will feature some of America's most notable Christian leaders. Ken Blanchard, a prominent author, speaker, and business consultant, will share insights on leading boldly like Jesus. John Ortberg, a dynamic author, speaker, and pastor, will discuss courageous leadership as a pastor and Christian leader. Miles McPherson, the pastor of one of America's 20 largest churches, will inspire us to get out of our comfort zone to "Do Something!" for God. We'll hear from Brenda Salter McNeil, an inspiring speaker whose newest book, A Credible Witness, explores the critical importance of courageous reconciliation. We will also hear from Tullian Tchividjian, grandson of Billy and Ruth Graham and the new pastor of Coral Ridge Presbyterian Church, one of America's 10 largest churches. And we'll gain insights from Dan Chun, a Honolulu-based pastor and chairman of a nonprofit that has trained over 40,000 church and nonprofit leaders in Hawaii and the San Francisco Bay area.

We will also hear from two men who epitomize bravery: Captain Gerald Coffee, a highly decorated Vietnam veteran who spent seven years as a POW in Communist prisons, and whose inspiring experiences are chronicled in his book Beyond Survival, and Major Jeff Struecker, whose heroic action as an Army Ranger was chronicled in the film Black Hawk Down.

The heroes of Hebrews 11 are examples of the faith and courage that should mark our lives.

In addition, we will offer more than 100 workshops, all-day training sessions, and summits to help equip your ministry for success in the year ahead.

Business Partners

Finally, one of the key ways that CLA serves ministry leaders like you is by connecting you to outstanding business leaders. At this upcoming conference, we will feature about 100 exhibitors who will be on hand to help in a range of areas critical to your ministry's success. You will have access to leading experts in fundraising, technology, Internet and software, financial management and accounting, leadership development, human resources, communications and marketing, insurance, continuing education, conferences, and more.

There's still time to register. We hope to see you at this conference as together we prepare to lead ministries with courage and faith in the year ahead. Blessings, and thank you for being a part of the CLA family.
